CircuSolar

Solar Recycling and Repurposing Platform

As solar energy continues its exponential increase, so does the volume of decommissioned panels that can potentially end up in a landfill. Through a data and mapping solution, we monitor the lifecycle of installed solar panels from commercial solar developments.

Decommissioned panels with many years of useful life left are available for new community-based projects across the United States. Developers make panels available for qualified nonprofits to deploy through impactful solar projects in underserved areas.

Founded by Circular Executive Director Logan Jenkins, CircuSolar was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy in late 2021 through the Solar Prize Round 5 software track.
